Wow! Thanks so much! I was stuck on this one, Friday 2/1. I couldn’t get Donees, Hoffa, Giftwrap, Renew. It was driving me crazy. I was googling a bunch of stuff and came across your web site. Contrary to the previous comment, I think your picture is hilarious!

I’m sorry to burden you with my unsolicited complaint, but I do not know the appropriate forum for this: Can crossword creators please stop using word-solving software to complete their puzzles for them?!?

The geographical references in this puzzle were outrageous. I also take issue with the spelling of schmooze as “shmooze.”

I want my puzzles to be difficult, but not ridiculously so. I like to believe that there is some human element in their composition.

Thank you for helping me find out “xylem.” I confess I cut a lot of science class in high school.

I love reading your solving step-by-step process. It somehow helps me to see there is a method to the madness of solving these darn puzzles. Here’s an interesting thought… thanks to the New York Times Daily Crossword I now look forward to Monday and dread Friday… what a switch from life.
